National & International Impact

While we are based in Central Florida, our practice truly knows no geographic boundaries. Our demonstrated track record of success in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases has resulted in our attorneys being retained to represent clients in courtrooms across the country, including in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, New York, Iowa, Idaho, California, Alabama, Wyoming, Hawaii, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arizona, Illinois, New Mexico, Texas and Indiana.

Our efforts have been recognized by our colleagues in the law—with attorneys from around the country regularly referring cases to us or asking us to serve as co-counsel with them—and by the national and international press.
For example, Bloomberg News interviewed Frank Melton as part of an investigative article published in August 2022 concerning recalled Takata airbags remaining on the road. In that interview, Frank described how shortcomings in the recall campaign for Takata airbags in Mexico caused the death of an American Citizen, Janett Perez, who was residing in Mexico, explaining that her death “could have been prevented had the same recall efforts used in the U.S. been implemented in Mexico.” The article, titled “Takata’s Ticking Time Bomb,” is available at: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-08-25/takata-air-bag-recall-millions-remain-defective-and-on-roads-worldwide?embedded-checkout=true

Similarly, the Detroit Free Press interviewed Frank as part of an investigation into the dangers of keyless car ignitions as part of a June 2019 article. Frank described the industry’s knowledge and failure to address the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning posed by keyless ignitions, which could be readily fixed by an automatic shutoff device. He was quoted as saying “[t]he auto industry has known for more than a decade that people were being injured and people were dying,” and that “[t]here was a conscious decision to not put an automatic shutoff in the vehicles.” The article, titled “His Keyless Car Killed Him While He Slept. New Legislation Could Save Others,” is available at https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/2019/06/14/park-it-act-keyless-car-carbon-monoxide/1419233001/

Additionally, CBS News reported on a lawsuit Frank and his team filed in May 2022 concerning an alleged ARC airbag defect which reportedly caused inflators to rupture and shoot metal shrapnel. Frank described the problem in plain terms, explaining: “You could have a ticking time bomb in your lap and you’ve got no way of knowing it.” That article, titled “Lawsuit Accuses 3 Automakers, Parts Manufacturer of Knowingly Selling Faulty Airbags,” is available at https://www.cbsnews.com/detroit/news/lawsuit-accuses-3-automakers-parts-manufacturer-of-knowingly-selling-faulty-airbags/

The above articles and litigations are just a few examples of the types of legal actions which Frank Melton and his team regularly handle which have national and international significance.
